Kevin Ramlal is a Canadian-born, Texas-raised South Asian comedy writer with roots in Trinidad as well as Tanzania. Raised with multiple cultural influences, Kevin focuses on characters searching for confidence and a sense of belonging, with humor and heart.

Most recently, Kevin participated in the 2023 Disney Writing Program, where he landed the role of Staff Writer on ABC’s second season of Not Dead Yet. Previously, Kevin served as an assistant on Freeform’s Kal Penn Approves This Message, Comedy Central’s Hot Mess Holiday, and Kal Penn’s memoir, You Can’t Be Serious. Additionally, Kevin was the Writers’ Assistant and Script Coordinator for The Santa Clauses on Disney+. 

His samples have garnered various accolades, including his feature, Citizen Nowhere, which was included on Blacklist’s 2021 CAPE List, and his pilot, Manifest, which was a finalist in the Nashville Film Festival and developed in the Giant Leap Accelerator’s inaugural class. Kevin also recently wrote and directed a short film, Dude, Where’s My Doubles?, which premiered at the LA Shorts International Film Festival.
